Reading is one of my favorite ways to switch off from the online world and let my mind get lost in someone else’s story. And now that Fall is slowly approaching, there are few things better than lighting a candle and cozying up with a book while it’s raining outside.
At the moment, I’m going through a personal growth phase so these are all books picked up straight from the self-help category with the intention of becoming a better self, as cheesy as that may sound!
What’s On My To Be Read Pile
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
This book follows the journey of Gretchen who decided to take a year to her happiness project after realizing how quickly time was passing and how she wasn’t focusing on the stuff that really mattered. I’m looking forward to read about what she learned along the way and what tips she has!
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
The four agreements are supposed to be principles that should guide our life: be impeccable with your word; don’t take anything personally; don’t make assumptions; always do your best. I’ve had this book sitting on my bookshelf for quite a while so I will hopefully manage to read it this Fall.
Let It Out: A Journey Through Journaling by Kate Dalebout
‘Let It Out‘, former ‘Wellness Wonderland’, is one of my absolute favorite podcasts. Katie, the girl behind it, recently launched a book focused on how journaling changed her life and how it can help anyone find clarity and direction in life. As I’ve been meaning to start journaling, and am a big fan of Katie’s podcast, I had to pick it up and will surely let you know how the process goes.

Find Your Happy Daily Mantras by Shannon Kaiser
This is not a book to read from cover to cover. It has 365 pages of inspiration and affirmations to cultivate more self-awareness and live more intentionally. We’re supposed to ask a question to the universe, pick a random page and trust that the message we open up to is the one for us to receive at that moment. It also includes a journal prompt to reflect on that topic. I’ve been doing it almost every morning or night and it’s always inspiring and eye-opening!
The Gifts Of Imperfection by Brené Brown
I love Brené Brown! And this is a big statement considering that I still haven’t read any of her books. But I did listen to almost all of her podcasts interviews and love the work she has done around vulnerability. ‘The Gifts of Imperfection: Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be and embrace who you are‘ was the first book I picked up from the author and I’m very excited to start reading it!

The Life-Changing Magic Of Not Giving A F*** by Sarah Knight
As a big people-pleaser, I couldn’t resist to the title of this book that is supposed to be self-help with an edge. The truth is, I want to stop giving a f*** and start pleasing myself more often that everyone else so I’m definitely curious to know what the author has to say.
Have you read any of these books? What’s on your to be read pile? 🙂

Let it Out is also on my “to be read” list. I love Katie’s podcast, and I love journaling, so I cannot wait to get this book!

At first I thought that was going to be the Marie Kondo book, which is great. But Not Giving a Fuck sounds even better. I think I’ll add that to my library list.
