I hesitated on writing this post because I’ve seen so many wonderful gift guides done by other bloggers that I felt like a) I had nothing to add and b) does it really fit with my blog? But I couldn’t resist. When I took this photo, I was on a week off from work and felt like taking blog pictures with a Christmassy theme, so here you have it: the Notes from Joana’s holiday gift guide.
I would say this is a gift guide more towards women, maybe bloggers who love books, home decor, and stationery. But, you can simply take some ideas to treat yourself this holiday season!
As I type this blog post, one of my favorite Christmas songs is playing in the background, making me feel super festive!
The Notes from Joana’s Christmas Gift Guide
Cute slippers
Some might see it as a “boring” gift but I wouldn’t mind getting some cute slippers, pajamas or even pretty socks. The homebody in me appreciates it a lot! I got these Christmassy slippers from Women’s Secret a couple of weeks ago on sale and love them, so comfy and festive! For lovely yet cheap options, take a look around Primark and I’m sure you’ll find something.
Notepads
As a stationery lover, I had to include this category. Lovely notebooks or notepads are never too much, right? And they can be handy for so many things, from taking notes at school or work to writing down ideas or even as blog photo props. One of my favorite stores to find beautiful stationery is Kikki.K.
Books
Books are always a great option since you have so many genres to choose from, from fiction to motivational. Plus, books are a great way to switch off from the online world, something very important these days. If you’re looking for some inspirational reads for the new year, I wrote a blog post with my recent picks.
Beauty Bits
Are you looking for a beautiful stocking filler for a beauty junkie? Essie’s After Sex is the perfect festive nail polish, while Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream is a very nourishing moisturizer that will save your skin from the cold Winter weather.
Stylish Bag & Cozy Accessories
I feel like a small shoulder bag is a statement piece in any closet. This one in specific is from Parfois and complements any outfit, giving it a special touch. Bobble hats or even scarves are also a lovely gift for this time of the year!
Coffee Mug
Who doesn’t love a good mug for the morning coffee or evening hot chocolate? I love the Holiday edition of these monogram mugs from Anthropologie! They make beautiful blog photo props, just saying.
2017 Planner
The new year is quickly approaching and a planner is a great tool not only for stationery lovers but people in general. I believe that a beautiful planner can motivate anyone to be more organized and productive during 2017. I got mine from J.Lynn Designery and can’t wait to start writing on it!
The Five-Minute Journal
Remind someone to be grateful with the Five-Minute Journal. Every morning, you list three things you’re grateful for, three things that would make your day great and a daily affirmation. Every evening, you write down three amazing things that happened and something you could have done to make your day better. It’s a lovely way to start and end the day on a positive note!
Would you want any of these items this holiday season? 🙂

I’d love all these things too, thoughtful but practical. A scented candle is another good present idea, you can never have too many!
Yes, I could definitely add a scented candle to this gift guide! 🙂 x
We have the same taste for presents 🙂 I wouldn’t mind receiving any of these!

Thank you, Jodie 🙂 They really are beautiful gift! x
I like these gift ideas – they’re all things I want for myself! Slippers aren’t boring at all. Who doesn’t appreciate good slippers or cozy PJs? By the way, really great work on the photography here!
Alyse (J.X.L.) ▲ Lumière & Lens
Happy to know you liked these gift ideas! Thank you so much, Alyse 🙂 x
Books are my favourite type of gift no matter what the occasion! x
Sophie Cliff
I subscribe to that! Love getting books all year round, too 🙂 x
Slippers totally aren’t boring, and there are so many cute ones out these days! I’m also such a fan of mugs. I have more than I need so I told myself that I’m not allowed to buy anymore, but if they’re gifted… how can I say no? ;P -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
They aren’t, right? Happy to know it’s not just me haha Yes, you can’t say no to a gift, mainly if it’s a beautiful mug 🙂 x
I love your photos Joana, thanks for sharing this gift guide! I love getting slippers, notebooks and mugs 🙂 I’ve actually asked for the monogram Anthropologie mug this year, I’m gutted they don’t do the gold version anymore!
Hanh | Hanhabelle
Aw thank you, Hanh, you’re welcome! Are you sure? They still have it on their website, it’s only available during the holiday season 🙂 x
