This is the last time I’m setting monthly goals this year and it’s a bit crazy to think that 2018 is only 30 days away. Despite the fact that I think 2017 is coming to an end quite quickly, I’m looking forward to December and the countdown to Christmas – which, let’s be honest, has started a long time ago. I watched my first Christmas movie of the season earlier this week and now my festive spirit couldn’t be higher! Anyway, here is the usual November recap and my five goals for the most wonderful time of the year.
November Recap.
1. Have the best time in Italy.
Visiting Italy was one of the highlights of the month. Scratch that. It was one of the highlights of the year since it has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. Although it was a very quick trip, I believe we made the most of our four days visiting Rome and Milan. But as you can probably guess, it wasn’t enough so I can’t wait to go back, mostly to Rome. If you’re curious, I wrote a blog post on how to spend 48 hours in Rome featuring what to do and where to eat.
2. Throw my grandma a small birthday party.
My grandma celebrated her 80th birthday this month so we threw her a little birthday party at home with our closest family. We had a lovely time eating good food and a giant cake!
3. Have a blog makeover.
This idea had been on my mind for the past couple of months but I wanted to make sure that I was transitioning to something better and wouldn’t regret the investment. Luckily, I waited and on Black Friday I was able to purchase this template at a great discount – and I really like it! There is nothing like a blog makeover to give you a boost of motivation. Bare with me because there is still a ton of work to do but I’ll hopefully have everything OK until the end of the year. Now, if you’re a long time reader, I would love to hear your thoughts on the new blog! 🙂
4. Declutter my closet.
Well, well, well. I failed, once again. You know that thing you really need to do but because you know how tedious and time-consuming it will be, you avoid it at all costs? That is what decluttering my closet is for me but I’m not giving up. I’m giving myself another month, until the end of the year, to cross this off my list.
5. Start Christmas shopping.
While I still have some presents to buy, I’m happy to report that I took advantage of the Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals and did most of my Christmas shopping. It feels great to be prepared!

December Goals.
1. Declutter my closet.
This is probably the third time – if not the fourth – I add this to my monthly goals but because I want to start the new year with a clean and tidy closet, I’m setting this goal for December, once again. If you have any tips, please let me know!
2. Experiment with Insta Stories.
Insta Stories is probably my favorite Instagram feature at the moment. I love watching other people’s stories because it shows us a less polished version of their life – it’s kind of vlogs but in a shorter format. The thing is, I’m too self-conscious to start my own but this month I’m committing myself to at least trying. As this is probably my favorite time of the year, I think it will be fun to share a bit of the behind-the-scenes.
3. Start a new project.
I’ve been playing with the idea of creating a course to help lifestyle bloggers improve their photography for quite some time and this month I want to fight the impostor syndrome that has been holding me back and finally start working on it. That being said, I would love to know if it’s something you would be interested in!
4. Be mindful this holiday season.
The holidays are a busy time of the year and it’s easy to forget to enjoy the present moment when there are a million things in your head in preparation for the big day. That’s why I want to remind myself to put my phone down more often, be present, and make the most of the holiday season by visiting Christmas Markets, going for evening walks in town to see the lights and bake tons of sweet treats.
5. Create a new healthy habit.
Following the mindfulness goal, I want to create the habit of meditation. It’s something that I’ve done in the past and I believe it can benefit me and bring some clarity to my life, which is a bit all over the place at the moment. I’ll keep you posted on how this goes.

Italy is #1 on my bucket list of places I want to visit!! It would definitely be the highlight of my year too! It looked amazing!
Italy was amazing, I believe you’ll love it! Now I want to go back and visit a few more cities 🙂 x
I love the idea of having goals, and something to work towards. One of my goals is to have a huge de-clutter of my house ready for the new year 🙂 x
Good luck with the decluttering session, Hannah! 🙂 x
Love these goals…definitely adding a closet reorganization and clean out to my list! I’ve got way more clothes than I actually wear or need.
Thank you! Hope this inspires you to declutter your closet, I did half of mine last weekend and I’m now trying to gather the motivation to do the rest 🙂 x
I love the new look of the blog. And I would love to see you more on instastories! Will be keeping an eye on your instagram! x
Thank you, Lisa, that means a lot!! I “did a story” (not sure that is how you say it ahah) yesterday showing my 2018 planner in case you’re interested 🙂 x
