Wellness is a popular topic nowadays. For me, it doesn’t always mean eating healthy food and exercising daily – although this is something I would like to incorporate more of in my life. There are so many other aspects of wellness to keep in mind. It is mainly about being happy, about creating a balanced mind, body, and soul.
But it is not always easy to make a commitment to wellness with our busy schedules. And that’s when our phone comes into play to help us stay on track. I’m sharing my current favorite wellness apps that might also help you on your journey, from starting a meditation practice to being more productive.
Five Wellness Apps Worth Downloading
There is nothing better than a few minutes of meditation to check in with yourself. It is proven to reduce stress and anxiety, boost productivity and increase self-awareness – just to name a few benefits. I’ve tried many apps before and there are two that stood up to me: Headspace and Rituals. I choose to feature Rituals because it’s completely free and allows you to select either 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes. If you can’t commit to a longer meditation, start with five minutes and work your way up when you’re ready.
The Five Minute Journal
Alongside meditation, gratitude can help you put things into perspective and turn a bad day around. We have so many things to be grateful for in our life but are often consumed by something going wrong. That’s why it’s so important to take a step back and think about all those little good things that put a smile on your face. The Five Minute Journal app helps you do just that. Aside from being a lot cheaper than the physical journal, it allows you to take a photo each day of something that made you happy to remember later.
Maybe a little TMI, but Clue helps you keep track of your menstrual cycle (everything from PMS to period to ovulation). It is a very easy to use and informative app who helps you pay attention to your personal and even emotional health.
Decluttering is a big part of a wellness journey. It is about going through all your stuff and select what really matters for your well being. Unroll.Me is a huge help when it comes to decluttering your inbox. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might have heard me talk about this app before. This is a very user-friendly app where you can set up an account and link it to your email. It allows you to see the email lists you’re subscribed to, giving you the option to unsubscribe or keep.
When it comes to productivity, I’m all ears to learn how to beat procrastination and get work done. Focus Keeper has been helping me with that. It is based on the Pomodoro technique: do one task at a time and break it down into short timed intervals of 25 minutes with a 5-minute break in-between. I was pleasantly surprised at how much more motivated and productive I am while using the app so it’s definitely worth a try.Five apps to help you on your wellness journey, from starting a meditation practice to being more productive.
