In case you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a homebody. While there’s nothing more exciting than traveling to somewhere new, I truly appreciate being at home. Even more on a rainy day. Now that it’s finally starting to look like Fall and the weather is getting chillier every day, what’s better than lighting up the fireplace and sitting on the couch watching Netflix?
I will now walk you through some of my favorite ways of entertaining myself on a rainy weekend, from having a little pamper session to making the most delicious cinnamon rolls that made the whole house smell like Fall!
5 Things To Do On A Rainy Day At Home
A little pampering session.
After a not-so-quick shower, I put on my new Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque by Kiehl’s which is supposed to purify and minimize pores, something I struggle very much with. As this is only the second time I’m using it, I can’t really say much about it but I am enjoying it so far and will keep you updated.
After taking my mask off with a warm, wet towel, I cleansed my skin with Simple Micellar Cleansing Water and applied my favorite moisturizer Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Usually, I only apply this at night to give my skin a boost of moisture as in the morning I prefer an oil-free one. But as I was having a pamper session and didn’t plan on leaving the house, I went for the Kiehl’s moisturizer, followed by Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. These are two products that I’ve already repurchased a couple of times before because I love them that much. When I find something that I like and works for my skin type, I tend to stick with it.
I then painted my nails with a very Fall appropriate color, Essie’s Bahama Mama. I know I should be using a base coat to protect my nails (and I can definitely notice the difference it makes) but I run out of mine and didn’t bother to buy a replacement, yet.
If there’s something I enjoy baking this time of the year is cinnamon rolls. They are not only delicious but make the whole house smell wonderful! I usually follow the same recipe by Laura in the Kitchen and although they’re very time-consuming, it’s all worth it when you’re able to dive in and eat your homemade cinnamon roll. Confession time: I like to take mine straight from the middle of the pan and while it’s still warm – it tastes so much better! Plus, I find baking very relaxing as it takes me out off my laptop and keeps me busy doing something outside the Internet.
Binge watching my favorite tv-show.
A rainy Sunday well-spent has to include binge-watching your favorite tv-show, right? At the moment I’m loving Gilmore Girls and don’t really know why it took me so long to start watching it. I’m currently in season three and love it more each episode. So I curled up with a blanket and my cinnamon roll watching a new episode.
Trying a new hobby.
With the help of my dad, I put together a loom to create a wall hanging similar to this one. As I didn’t want to spend money on a loom neither knew where to buy one, I decided to DIY it. I had also bought yarn at a local store and it has been so much fun to switch off and do something that doesn’t involve the Internet. I’ll keep you posted on how this goes!
Getting lost in a book.
Getting lost in a good book is probably my favorite thing to do offline. Bought at the train station in Milan, Love from Paris is the one I’m currently reading and I’ve been going to bed a bit too late just because it’s hard to put it down. As I’m about to finish it, feel free to pop some recommendations below!
