I don’t write a lot of beauty reviews here on Notes from Joana because I usually stick to the same products I know that work on my skin. I have been following this routine for months and only a few weeks ago introduced a new product that I’ve been loving: the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment.
A Little Background
My skin type is combination, mostly on the oilier side & specially around my t-zone area. I never had any major problems with my skin (thankfully!), just the ocasional pimple here & there – not wearing any makeup until I was 18 helped a lot, I guess. My biggest issue was always the nasty black heads on my nose. I’ve tried a bunch of products – masks, strips, exfoliants, you name it – but none of them seemed to really work for me.
About The Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment
The Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment was really hyped around the beauty community about a year or so ago and since then I have been wanting to try it out. This charcoal mask, made without parabens or sulfates, is supposed to draw out dirt & brighten the skin.
When you apply it, it has a dark grey color and you feel a tingling sensation that goes away after a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, the mask dries into a light grey and you can see all the little dots where the junk is being absorbed from your pores. And that’s the gross cool thing, because you can actually see it in action – as you can see on the ridiculous photo below haha!
I adore this product but it obviously isn’t miraculous. It won’t remove your pimples or all your black heads right on the first application but it does an amazing job at drawing out impurities and all the junk we have beneath our skin. I noticed a difference right after the first time I applied it. So far, I applied it 3 or 4 times and the pores on my t-zone area are visibly smaller and my skin feels clearer & smoother. And even though it leaves my skin a bit red afterward – keep that in mind if you have sensitive skin -, it doesn’t feel tight or dry.
Overall, this is a really nice mask! The only bad thing I see here is the price since it’s quite expensive. I got mine from Feelunique with a tiny discount but it still was 50€ which is ridiculous. But since I’ve been searching forever for something that could deal with my black heads, I decided to invest in it. Thankfully, I don’t regret it at all!
