I’m proud to announce that Notes from Joana 3.0 is finally up – woohoo! There’ still a lot of work to be done and I have to admit I feel a bit anxious about it. For launching without having everything ready. But I couldn’t wait any longer, I miss blogging, guys!
So I fought the insecure perfectionist in me and here I am!
I kept putting off the re-launch of the blog not only because of the technical difficulties during the process which made my heart stop a few times, but also because I was trying to perfect how it looked, which led to procrastination since I obviously can’t make it perfect. It’s a weird thing how perfectionism and procrastination go hand in hand…
I finally figured that if I waited until everything was perfect, it would take me ages to re-launch it.
And I’m also itching to start blogging again and interacting with you guys which is something I really miss. By the way, I want to apologize for disappearing for so long, both on my blog and social media but I needed time to figure things out. I believe it was better to stop than trying to do both things at once. I’m a thinker and a perfectionist so I needed time for both.
And I also want to be honest with you about one other thing.
The biggest reason for the blog makeover was because I want to take my blog to the next level.
Lately I’ve been a little obsessed with entrepreneurship stories of people who built successful businesses online, and that inspired me to at least give it a try.
I know my blog is still very small and I don’t intend to grow it tons until next month but I do want to invest in creating something I’m proud to tell people around me and one day create my own business having the blog as a support.
So with that in mind, I decided Notes from Joana needed a fresh start.
First thing was to move from Blogger to WordPress. Blogger is an awesome platform to start but I wanted to have more control over my blog, content and design. And I felt like a new image would give me a new motivation. It sure did!
So, what’s new?
Apart from the layout which is clearly the most obvious change, I added a few features I would like to talk about:
- Branding. As you will notice, I worked a little on the branding of the blog: from the colors & fonts to a Pinterest graphic template so that my images are not only easier + quicker to create but also look more consistent.
- Newsletter. I finally decided to create a newsletter. I’m a newbie at this but I think it will be a really fun and more personal way to interact with you. Find more here!
- Content? Don’t worry. Notes from Joana will still be a lifestyle blog and the content I create won’t suffer many changes. But I decided to narrow down my focus as you can read more about on the About page.
- Posting schedule. Until the end of May I decided to write only one post per week which will be up every monday morning. As some of you might know I work full time and I know I won’t be able to post good quality content three times a week, at least for now. But, there is an extra post coming this week with a little life update and a survey I created to find out a few things about you and the type of content you would like to see on the blog.
I would love to know your feedback!
Feel free to pop a comment bellow with your thoughts and suggestions. I’m always open to hear your feedback!
Before I go I want to thank you for sticking with me during these last two months and for all your support, it means a lot guys 🙂 And please bear with me if you come across some errors, there’ still a lot of work to be done and I’ll try to take care of it until the end of the week!
Hopefully you are as excited as I am for this new chapter!
