A couple of weeks ago I was tagged by the lovely Sara to describe my happy day routine with a few things I do to improve my mood and daily life. Since I’m all for finding happiness in the little things, I was up for the challenge, so here’s how I make the most of my day!
Although I’m really thankful for having a job, as a total homebody my happy day would be spent at home with my cat blogging. But I thought that if I wrote some things that make me happy during a normal work day, I could always come back to this post and see the little things I can do to make my day better.
MY HAPPY DAY ROUTINE
HAVING TIME TO GET READY & ENJOY BREAKFAST
Having to rush out of the door kind of ruins my morning so I usually wake up an hour before I have to leave in order to have time to get ready and enjoy my breakfast calmly. It would be even better to get out of bed a little bit earlier to meditate but at the moment it’s just too hard & too cold.
DRIVING TO WORK
I don’t have my own car but every other day I borrow my mom’s. By train and subway, it takes me three hours to commute to and from work, but by car I do it in half the time and don’t need to leave home so earlier. I really enjoy the days when I’m able to sleep in, drive and sing along my favorite music – it always cheers my mood in the morning!
PRODUCTIVE DAY AT WORK
It obviously makes me happy when the day at work goes well, I accomplish everything I had to do and am able to go home at 6h30.
TAKING A WALK DURING LUNCH BREAK
I don’t do this often but I should. It’s nice to get away from the office for a little bit to stretch my legs and get some fresh air.
SPENDING TIME WITH MY FAMILY & CAT
I still live with my parents and always have dinner with them. We’re a super closed family and it’s always good to spend some time together. And cuddling my cat, of course!
MAKE UP OFF & PJ ON
At the end of a long day, there’s nothing better than taking my make off and getting inside my comfy pajama. We all agree, right? This particular one is my absolute favorite, super warm and cozy!
WORKING ON MY BLOG
Blogging is something I’m really passionate about, it’s like a therapy so I always make sure to dedicate some time at the end of the day to write and plan some future posts.
READING A BOOK BEFORE BED
Before falling asleep, I enjoy snuggling up in bed reading a good book – I’m currently on book three of the Harry Potter series. It’s a great way to switch off and always makes me sleep better.
