It’s been a while since the last time I sat down and wrote to you guys about what’s been going on in my life, especially since I’ve been away from the blogging world for so long.
I missed the therapeutic side of writing a blog and chatting with you so today I thought about doing a little catch up. After being away for a couple of months, I feel like it’s the right thing to do before I jump to this new chapter of Notes from Joana.
I also want to ask you a little favor. I created a reader survey to find more about you and the content you would like to see on the blog. So I would really appreciate if you stuck until the end and answered the survey. Find more details below
So, what I’ve been up to?
Am I an adult now?
It’s been more than three months since I started my internship/job – it’s crazy!
I’m glad to finally make my own money but this job is taking over my life since I spend so much time commuting to and from work (1h30 to 3h). I feel like I’m now an adult with responsibilities and I’m not sure I’m okay with that haha.
And I’m tempted to sit here complaining but I’m making an effort to control my negative self talk and focus on the positive side of things so I’ll move on to some of the things I’ve been enjoying over the last couple of months.
Pinfinite Growth is an e-course I had been eyeing for a while. It was a big investment and I wondered whether or not it would be worth the money. Thankfully, I bought it before the price went up and I’m so glad I did!
If you never heard about it, it is a Pinterest e-course created by the amazing blogger & entrepreneur Melyssa Griffin from The Nectar Collective.
I don’t want to talk much about it just yet because I’m still at the beginning and haven’t start putting all her tips into action, but I’m really enjoying it so far and will let you know my thoughts once I’m done with it.
I recently discovered the world of personal development podcasts and I’m officially hooked!
I was introduced to The Life School Podcast by one of Sam‘s newsletters. I started listening to it while commuting and it’s such a great way to make time go by faster while I’m feeding my brain and learning some really interesting stuff. It makes me feel all motivated to work on myself and create the life I dream of.
Some of my current favorite podcasts are:
Let me know your favorites, too. I love finding new ones to listen to!
Another thing I’ve been loving for the past two months are weekly vlogs.
And, surprisingly, my favorites are not from people with the dreamiest lives but “normal” humans. Maybe it’s just because I’m nosy but I find it soo interesting to see what others are up to, even when they’re just chatting while running errands.
It’s just me?
If you’re wondering, some of my current favorites are:
Five Minute Journal App
A few weeks ago I came across this app (there’s also the book version) created by Alex Ikonn (Mimi Ikonn‘s husband) and Uj Ramdas that is basically a daily journal app whose goal is to improve our lives, be more positive and appreciative.
Every morning you write three things you’re grateful for, some things you’re going to do to make your day amazing and pick a daily affirmation. Then, in the evenings, you write down three amazing things that happened that day and something you could have done to make your day better.
I believe it’s such a good way to be more present and appreciative of the little things. It’s not always easy to name those three things I’m grateful for but when I do make the effort, I start to notice how many wonderful little things I have in my life that I don’t really pay attention to.
Want to keep reading these catch up posts?
If you enjoyed reading this type of personal posts where I catch up with you and talk about my current favorite things, you might want to subscribe to my newsletter.
Yes, Notes from Joana finally has a newsletter now – whoop whoop!
At the end of every month I will send out an email with something similar to what I did today. I will no longer write these notes on the blog since I find email is such a more personal way to chat and connect with you. And you can always reply to that email with your own monthly catch up and we can talk about what’s been going on.
If you’re interested, subscribe in the sidebar of the blog – you will not only get those monthly emails but also access to some cool freebies that are coming your way
Notes from Joana Reader Survey
As I mentioned earlier, I decided to create a quick reader survey to get to know you better and find out what you would like to see from Notes from Joana in the future.
The survey will only take you about 5 minutes to complete and it will help me plan and create the best and most helpful content for you. So I would really appreciate if you could take the time to answer it bellow – it is confidential so don’t worry
Thank you in advance for your support!
