Can you believe there’s only one month left in 2017? I’m still trying to process that. And with the end of another month, comes the usual monthly favorites where I share a few things I loved over the last few weeks: from a blog makeover to my trip to Italy to Gilmore Girls. There’s also a little announcement at the end of the blog post so if you enjoy this type of content, keep an eye out for it. Let’s move on to the favorites…
Notes from Joana 3.0
Let’s start by clearing the elephant in the room, shall we? Notes from Joana has a new look – just in time for its third birthday in December!
I like to change things up a bit every now and there’s nothing like changing something on your blog to give you a new motivation. As you can probably tell, a lot has changed because I wanted to create something that I was proud of and reflected me and my brand – mainly for the exciting things in the making! Alongside the blog focused on living a wholehearted life, I now offer a few services: blog writing, social media management, and graphic design so if you – or someone you know – need any help with that, let me know.
Iprobably sound like a broken record but I’ve been loving this tv show!
A lot of my free time was spent watching vlogs on YouTube but ever since I discovered the Gilmore Girls, my subscription box is full of videos to catch up on.
Last month, I told you I had finished watching the first season, and in November I have watched not only the second but the third, as well. Rori is now going to college so it will be interesting to see how the story evolves.
During Fall and Winter, there are few things better than curling up in front of the fireplace binge-watching your favorite tv-show!
One of my favorite moments from the month of November was definitely visiting Italy with my parents, a country that has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember.
We went for four days, three of which in Rome and one in Milan. It was a very short tip but, aside from the rainy day in Milan, I believe we made the most of our time there. We wandered around the beautiful streets, saw the main attractions, and ate delicious Italian food. I’m definitely going back for more!
If you’re curious, I wrote an entire blog post on how to spend 48 hours in Rome where I featured what to see and where to eat!
Faux Shearling Jacket
Ihave been seeing the faux shearling coat trend everywhere and last week, after a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and this specific blog post by Jess Ann Kirby, I finally caved in and bought this one from Stradivarius.
I’m not usually one to follow trends but couldn’t resist this one. While it’s a bit out of my comfort zone, I just love how it looks and feels – almost like you’re wearing a teddy bear jacket, making it the coziest piece for Fall and Winter!
November wasn’t a very cold month here in Portugal so I didn’t need to wear coats too often but I’m sure I’ll wear this a lot once the weather cools down.
Love from Paris
When I was in Milan earlier this month, I picked up Love from Paris by Alexandra Potter to read on the plane back home.
It tells the story of Ruby Miller, a writer who travels to Paris to spend some time with her best friend after being stood up at the airport by her long-distance boyfriend. While in the city of love, she discovers an apartment that has been locked for 70 years and a bundle of love letters. Ruby turns love detective and tries to decipher the mystery and the magical story of a love that lasts a lifetime.
It was a great book about love and secrets and I totally recommend if you’re looking for an easy read!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post. If so, please keep in mind that, starting next month, I’m only sharing my monthly favorites to my newsletter subscribers. I really want to work on growing my email list because I feel like it’s a more personal way of getting in touch with you while sharing a few things I loved during the month. I’m also working on something special extras to add to this monthly email so if you’re interested, please subscribe below. Hope to see you there! But if you’re not interested, I completely understand – no hard feelings!
