March was quite a good month. I caught up with old friends, had some good things happening at work, and Spring started which brought the beautiful blossoms and longer days. It is so nice to get out of work while it’s still daylight. Looking forward to the warmer weather now.
Meanwhile, it’s time to do a little March recap and set some new goals for the month of April. Hope you all have a lovely month!
1. Consume less, create more.
Well, I can’t really decide if I actually accomplished this goal or not. When it comes to my blog, I managed to publish a blog post every week which, for me, is an accomplishment, but aside from blogging, I didn’t create much, to be completely honest.
2. Spread the love.
Something I did work on was interacting more with other bloggers by leaving a meaningful comment every time I enjoyed reading a blog post. Numbers are just numbers and a meaningful comment from someone shows that they liked your content enough to take some time to write a few words of appreciation. So I really want to make an effort to keep doing this and be less of a silent reader/watcher.
3. Send a newsletter.
Technically, I didn’t send a newsletter in March but I did write one that I will send this Sunday – does it still count? It features my monthly favorites, from books to music to a new podcast discovery!
4. Go on a walk during lunch break.
I can’t really say I went on a walk every single day but I’m still proud of going a least a couple of times per week – it’s better than nothing, right? The last couple of weeks were kind of a fail, though. Ironically, since Spring started, the weather has been rainy and could so that meant even less walks. But I’m committed to doing it in April, as well.
5. Book my first tattoo appointment.
I’m writing this blog post on the night of the 1st of April and I booked my first tattoo appointment this morning. One of the reasons why was because I knew I would feel a bit ashamed coming here and saying I didn’t accomplish this goal. It was something I’ve been wanting to do for ages but I think too much about everything so I suppose I needed a little push. Still, haven’t heard back from them but I’ve made the first step.
1. Declutter my bedroom.
Not planning on doing it Marie Kondo-style because it really isn’t my thing. I simply need to go through my stuff and get rid of everything I no longer want/need. Clothes I haven’t worn in years, old magazines that are just taking up space, and make up bits that need to be thrown away. I will have a few days off this month so I’ll make sure to schedule some time for Spring cleaning.
2. Read more.
Reading is one of my favorite things to do but I feel like I don’t do it as much as I used to. Mainly before bed and instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media, since reading always helps me to wind down and then fall asleep faster.
3. Go back to yoga.
I stopped going to yoga in December and although I have been wanting to go back since then, I’ve been making up excuses not to. The thing is, I usually never want to go because I am extremely lazy
& anxious but I always love the feeling afterward. My back misses yoga as well, as I’ve noticed my posture getting worse from spending so much time in front of a computer screen.
4. Practice more self-care.
After writing a blog post on self-care I realized I don’t put it into practice as much as I would like so this month I want to focus on me (as selfish as that may sound). I want to buy myself some flowers, have a little pamper session, and try a new recipe, amongst so many other little things that bring me joy.
5. Declutter my inbox.
Can you tell April would be the declutter month for me? This is also long-overdue. I managed to go through 700+ emails last weekend but there were still around 100 left and now, a week later, we’re talking about 200+. Yes, it’s really bad.
Do you have any goals for April?
