I’m a sucker for inspirational quotes so you can probably imagine how much I enjoyed writing this post. I have them around my bedroom and a folder on Pinterest where I collect them like crazy. Today I decided to pick 5 that I like to repeat in my head when I’m feeling down and in need of a little push of motivation.
She believed she could so she did.
This is probably my favorite quote of the bunch. It means a lot to me because I often struggle to believe in my abilities, even though I’m aware that believing in yourself is the first step to achieve your dreams. We need to be our first supporters and believe that we can achieve everything we put our mind to.
Everything happens for a reason.
Every time something goes wrong, I try to say this to myself: everything happens for a reason. It can be extremely hard to believe this at first, but it will most certainly teach you something about yourself, your strengths or about people around you. We just need to pay attention.
It doesn’t matter what others are doing. It matters what YOU are doing.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison or to feel like you need to do what everyone is doing, either when it comes to academic, professional or love life. We’re all different, we all make different choices and everyone’s path to success is different. Don’t feel discouraged, focus on your own life & what’s the best for YOU.
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.
I’m quite a positive person. I still have those days when I feel like crap, and it’s a lot easier to focus on what’s going wrong in my life. But I always try to make an effort to push those thoughts to the back of my mind and focus on looking at the bright side. I deeply believe that having a positive mind has a positive effect in your happiness & life.
It’s okay not to be okay.
I’ve talked about being positive, believing in yourself and that everything happens for a reason. But I also believe that it is okay not to be okay. I wish I was happy + positive all the time but I’m not. And I’ve learned to accept that. It’s okay to cry if I need to. It doesn’t mean I’m weak or that I failed. It means I’m human and am allowed to have bad days.
