Can you believe September is already around the corner? And it didn’t really feel like Summer to me since it was so different from usual – not sure if I like the whole adulting thing. I didn’t go on holidays or had days off from work. I didn’t even go to the beach! Well, I went on walks to the beach, but I’m talking about laying down sunbathing and going for a swim.
I had a good Summer nevertheless and I’m now looking forward to Fall. It’s my favorite season when it comes to style – already placed an order on Asos! – and I miss curling up in the couch on a rainy day and binge-watch a tv show. This season I want to catch up on PLL and Hart of Dixie. Any tv shows you recommend?
For now, let’s talk about the goals I’m going to work towards this month!
3 Goals For September
1. Meditate every morning.
After a handful of failed attempts, I’m giving meditation a new opportunity. I always feel better afterwords but haven’t been able to create and stick to a routine. This past week I decided to set my alarm 10 minutes earlier so that I could have some time to meditate. I did it everyday from monday to friday with the help of the Headspace app but since my routine is different during the weekend, I literally forgot.
My goal for September is to incorporate it into my daily. My mind is constantly rushing with thoughts so it feels so good to take 10 minutes for myself in the morning and focus on nothing more than being present.
2. Read 10 pages before bed.
I fell back into the old habit of scrolling endlessly through my social media feeds before bed. I always try to have an early night and then end up wasting 20 minutes on my phone which seems to complicate the process of shutting off my brain. So in September I want to get back into the habit of putting my phone in night mode and read a few pages before bed.
3. Publish a blogpost once a week, at least.
Last weekend I sat down with a specific goal: get my motivation back. I go through different phases with my blog: I’m either super motivated or lacking inspiration. The thing is, I was trying to stick to a specific niche around personal development, but realized I have so many other passions that I want to share with you. Even though I love that topic, I felt stuck.
I read my favorite my blogs in the hope of bringing back my inspiration and it worked so well! Some of my favorite blogs like Kate La Vie, From Roses and A Girl Obsessed don’t have a very strict niche, they’re lifestyle blogs and still successful. That realization sparked something in me and I felt my inspiration coming back with ideas.
Now my goal for the month is to publish at least one blogpost every monday and, if possible, write in advance so I don’t have to rush and can actually enjoy the process.
