Either if you are in school or work, I’m pretty sure you spend the week wishing for the weekend. You might still have a to-do list to accomplish, but those two days are yours to recharge and be with your loved ones, so you need to make the most out of them. Here are 10 ways to unwind and be ready to tackle the week ahead!
10 WAYS TO UNWIND THIS WEEKEND
One of my favorite things to do during the weekend is going on a morning walk. Since we live only a 20 minutes car ride away from the beach, my parents & I usually go there for walk every sunday if the weather is nice. It’s so refreshing to walk outside, enjoy the nature, clear your head & do a bit of exercise at the same time!
Take some time for yourself this weekend and have a little pamper session. Moisturize your body, apply a hair or face mask and paint your nails. You can also sort of pamper your mind by trying meditation. Headspace is great app if you have no idea how to start and want some guidance.
Disconnect from the online world for a while this weekend. Light a candle, grab a cup of tea or hot chocolate and read a book. Sometimes it’s nice to escape your world and enter someone else’s reality.
Start your day by writing down your thoughts and what has been bothering you this week. It helps you be more present & understand how you truly feel inside. On a more positive note, make a list of five things you’re grateful for or that made you happy during the week. Here’s why it’s important to be grateful & how it can contribute to your happiness.
Why not do something crafty with your hands this sunday? Try knitting, start scrapbooking or make your own Christmas cards – how lovely are these? I might pick some photos to print so I can finally create my vision board.
Experiment in the kitchen. Try a new recipe from your Pinterest board. I know it can be seen as a chore for some people, but I believe cooking is one of the best ways to unwind and something that brings me a lot of joy. Why not bake some cinnamon rolls?
Make a playlist with your current favorite songs so that you can be ready to face the week ahead. Music can actually influence your mood so why not make a playlist with happy and upbeat songs to listen to on your journey to school or work?
If you had a busy week with school or work, the weekend is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Catch up with a friend or call your grandparents to see if they’re well.
It sounds great to read and switch off, but we can’t stay away from the Internet for too long, am I right? Especially now that the weather is getting colder & colder, there’s few things better than to snuggle up on the couch binge-watching a tv show. I’m loving the Originals at the moment!
Even though I believe sleeping is a waste of time – how many things could you get done during those hours? -, I would be lying if I said I didn’t love sleeping and how beneficial it is. And what better way to do it than on the weekend? So, have a lie in and catch up on some precious sleep.
