10 THINGS ONLY BLOGGERS WILL UNDERSTAND
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR PICTURE OPPORTUNITIES
We can’t help it. Everything we do/eat/buy/wear can be an opportunity to take a picture for Instagram or even worthy of writing a blogpost about. That usually translates into having a camera roll with 247 identical pictures. You know, I have to try different angles and it’s good to have options.
WE ARE NOT SELF-OBSESSED
Yes, we do like to take selfies and photograph everything, we might even blog about our own lives, but being a blogger doesn’t mean we are vain and narcissists. Sometimes it’s quite the opposite and people tend to forget that there’s a whole other side of our life, personality and struggles that we keep private.
BLOGGING TAKES A LOT OF WORK
For some people outside the blogging world, having a blog is as simple as taking a couple of photos, writing a text and hitting publish. No! There’s a lot of hard work that goes into it. I personally spend a lot of time planning, writing and taking 159 photos only to see later that they turned out like crap.
WE HAVE INTERNET FRIENDS THAT WE’VE NEVER MET
A couple of years ago I wouldn’t believe if someone said to me that I would make friends through the Internet – isn’t it dangerous? But the blogging community is actually full of amazing people. It’s great to meet someone with similar interests and establish connections with them to the point you consider them friends, even though you’ve never met face to face. Plus, it’s also interesting when our online life is more active than our real social life!
BEING OBSESSED WITH NATURAL LIGHTING
Every blogger knows that natural lighting is precious for blog photos, even more during this time of the year when it starts getting darker around 4pm. Blogging can teach us a lot of things, especially to not use flash.
BUYING SOMETHING JUST FOR THE PURPOSE OF BLOGGING
Who never bought anything just for the purpose of blogging? A pretty notebook, a make up bag, lovely cards with inspirational quotes, anything that can be used as a prop. Before I started blogging, I never used to have fresh flowers around the house, but now I buy a bunch every now and then – mainly because they look pretty in photos.
GETTING READY JUST FOR THE PURPOSE OF BLOGGING
Putting make up on and dressing up just for the sake of taking a blog photo. Then changing to pjs again to write the post. I don’t do this often because I don’t share a lot of photos of me but I would be lying if I said I had never done that.
WE CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT BLOGGING
Along the lines of always looking for picture opportunities, we can’t switch off from our blogger mindset. We are always thinking about new topics to write about, sharing our content on social media and trying to figure out if our day out exploring would make an interesting post.
WAIT, LET ME JUST TAKE A PHOTO
Yes, we can sacrifice our food for a picture. And it’s not any picture, we need to style the food first, like a real food blogger. If we’re at home, it’s time to pick the prettiest plate. Oh, and birds eye view is the way to go!
WHAT IS A BLOG? WHY DO YOU DO IT?
I think that every blogger finds it awkward to try to explain to parents or older people what a blog is and why we keep one. When I told my parents that I had a blog I could tell they were a bit confused. Is it like Facebook? And people actually read it? What are they saying? They were really supportive, though, I guess it was just curiosity
