I’m a big day dreamer and list maker. As you probably have noticed through my monthly goals, I love setting my intentions and making lists of everything and anything. It helps me believe that I’m being more organized or taking the first small step towards achieving what I set my mind to. So when I came across this post by Hannah, I couldn’t resist making my own list. A realistic bucket list, as she calls it.
10 Things I Would Like To Achieve In My Life
1. Start my own business.
What most attracts in owning my own business is the freedom. The freedom of being my own boss doing something I’m passionate about and the possibility of working when and where I desire, whether that is my desk or bed. I know being self-employed is not all roses but I’m willing to give it a try since I believe I don’t fit in the corporate world, stuck in an office all day.
As a multi-passionate person, I would love to build a brand that allowed me to explore my creativity through blogging, photography and writing. I want to build my own dream instead of helping someone else build theirs, as cliché as that may sound.I want to build my own dream instead of helping someone else build theirs. Click To Tweet
2. Travel to Bali.
I’ve been dreaming of visiting Bali ever since I read Eat Pray Love, one of my favorite books. I dream about going on a retreat: switching off from the online world, exploring the island, eating good, healthy food, practicing yoga and meditation and just taking care of myself- typical.
3. Write a book.
I’ve been wanting to write a book for as long as I can remember. I remember discussing dream jobs with my best friend during a sleepover years ago and saying I would love to travel the world and write a book about it haha – how awesome does that sound? While that would be great, now I’m thinking of something between a memoir and a “self-help” book.
Not something that is going to happen soon but one day, hopefully.
4. Own a KitchenAid stand mixer.
Yes, you read that right haha! Last friday I got home from work very tired but decided to make a cake – it was a Lime Cheesecake, if you’re curious. It’s not only something I love doing but I feel like it’s calming and a great way to switch off. Since I love baking so much, one of my goals is to own a KitchenAid stand mixer in a pretty color.
I’m smiling while writing this because I imagine how weird putting this as one of the things I would like to achieve in my life might sound for those of you who hate cooking haha.
It will definitely not happen soon – there’s not even an husband yet! – but I do want to find the right guy and get married someday. And yes, I would love to grow my own family and have kids – maybe three. But, who knows?
6. Road trip across America.
As a big wanderluster, I had to include another dream trip on this list. Ideally, I would renew an old Volkswagen camper and venture on a road trip across America. But, it would still be great to do it in a car. I’m not too picky.
7. Worry less about what others think.
This is going to be a hard one to accomplish since it involves a lot of inner work and it’s probably something you fight against your whole life. But I want to stop being such a people pleaser and not let what others might think control almost everything I do.
8. Own my own house.
I want to have my own place and being able to fully decorate it as I please. I love interior design and I’m constantly pinning images on Pinterest of beautiful interiors. As an introvert, I would like to have the experience of living on my own in a little apartment, but eventually I want to move into a little house and grow a family.
9. Learn how to ride a bike.
That’s right, I don’t know how to ride a bike haha. I tried to learn a couple of times before without success, but I’m willing to give it a third chance!
10. Live wholeheartedly.
According to Brené Brown, living wholeheartedly means engaging in your life from a place of worthiness. It’s having the courage to own your story, embrace vulnerability and gratitude, be compassionate towards yourself and others. It’s about living and loving with your whole heart. And that’s what I aim for in this life.
What about you, what do you want to achieve in your life?
